I’m amazed on the story behind the song ‘tonight’ of FM static… I thought it made me shatter when I listened to it
again while having it’s story running through my head.
My seatmate in 4th year high school, Emmanuel, first introduced the song to me and I just say “hindi naman maganda
eh… (it’s not good).” But after I found out the story behind it, I started to appreciate it because now I can
relate to it.
According to some credible sources, the composer of the song dedicate ‘Tonight’ to his fiance, who died in World
trade center on Sept. 11, 2001, and at that date, it’s their wedding day. Just thinking the feeling on how will you
face on such tragedy is very hard.
I wonder if that will happen to me, what should I do? Losing your love one is very hard, and unnatural death will
make it harder for you to cope. Were the suicidal bombers of pentagon had this in their mind before doing such
inhumane things? Believe it or not, I don’t condemn the bombers. I don’t know why… maybe because I wasn’t a victim
by their doing. But there is something more I wanted to know. I wanted to hear their reason why they need to do such
thing before I make my judgement.
Of course I symphatize to the family and friends of victims because it’s one of the greatest trials in your life, to
lost a loved one, or even worse, two or more are gone…
