Because of the improvement in my blog stats and my posts about brgy. LS 97.1 ayos! are hitting a new record on my viewers,  I’ve decided to make another post about it.

Some people ask me why I’m so fascinated in this FM station, let me tell you some thoughts about it…

LIST OF THEIR SHOWS

Kwentong Barangay (Problema bukas, ngayon ang broadcast, kamusta naman yun?)

5:00 am – 9:00 am (Mon-Fri)
DJs: Papa Tolitz, Papa Bear, and Papa Kiko

I’m not sure if it really starts at 5:00 am, Kwentong Baranggay tackles about typical problems that people encounter in their own places. As far as I know, these problems are reported by our ka-barangay by means of text and call. The names of the baranggay that are reported to them are altered to avoid slandering its name. The DJs are giving advices and/or solutions to those problems. Another prominent in this show is The Drugstore of Papa Tolitz where you can find non-sense but useful things that may help you about your problems. Join them and start your day with their cool songs and hilarious jokes.

Balita sa Barangay

9:00 am – 11:00 am (Mon-Fri)
DJs: Ate Liza, Pap Dudut (Mon-Thurs), Papa Gio (Fri)

Balita sa barangay, from the phrase itself, is about news in the Philippines and other parts of the world. But it’s not your typical news shows that we’re very familiar. The headlines that they use are witty and mind-boggling. You’ll be shocked about the news headline because it’s somewhat unbelievable but after they elaborated the whole story, it’s also the same as what we hear on television news.
Papa Dudut/ Papa Gio is in charge of the general news while Ate Liza for the showbiz news. All I can say is, ‘Whatta headline!”

Top 5 Ngayon at Kahapon

11:00 am – 1:00 pm (Mon-Sat)

The daily countdown of top 5 favorite songs today (based from the text votes of listeners) and added some twist, another top 5 songs way back several years ago. The official countdown starts at 12:00 pm. The first hour is allotted for some request and/or other stuffs. They call each other BATLA and I don’t know why. Before they really made me think what does BATLA means. FYI, Batla means (Babae at lalake).

Talk to Papa (TTPP)
May Problem ka ba, I-talk to papa na!

Talk to Papa has change the lifestyle of many Filipinos in Metro Manila. Before, at the afternoon, people are enjoying watching television while having a rest. But now, what I’ve observed, lots of people open their radio instead of television just to hear the new phenomenon every afternoon. Some can’t help it but open BOTH television and radio, assuring not to miss every single episode in each program.

TTPP is an “advice” show. The callers and texters share their problems and let the two DJs do their best to give suggestions, advice and solution to their dilemmas.

Based on what I hear and read, TTPP faces some issues regarding their topics that they’re discussing on air. Being a listener since April 2008, I admit that the jokes are too much considering that the topics are sensitive and it depends on what is the caller’s or texter’s problem. Some rumors are spreading that the TTPP will only last until June 2008 due to some prohibitions and a memorandum from the management (no confirmation at all, hope its not true).

As time goes by, I noticed the changes happening to the show, like their green jokes became lighter and they tying their best to limit their topics up to GP, which I think is good. As more time elapses, more listeners patronize them, both adults and children.

Lots of texters flood their textlines most are for Rambo. Speaking of Rambo, it’s a segment in TTPP where people can express their unwanted feelings and after that the word RAMBO KA! Are shouted and a gunshot sound clip is palyed. Another segment is the PAPAtattoo, but at these days, I seldom hear it. A new song is also popularized in TTPP entitled “Bakya mo Neneng”

The show becomes more entertaining because of the Chinese chef and business man, David cooked, selling his siopao and eggs. Listeners love his entrance/theme song ‘Billie Jean’ especially when he sings with that tune.

“Viva, Viva!!! Manalangin tayo…”
The biggest hit in TTPP, Aling Juni Sia is the imitation of the mother of our famous boxer, Manny Pacquiao.. Everybody loves her, especially when she’s doing her rituals and prayers. She’s praying for the sake of rotten tomatoes, rusty iron, 2 pesos change, whatever comes in her mind. Her ‘ingrata and maldita’ attitude made her famous. Rock On!

Almost everyday, surprise guest visits the TTPP. Flo Rida, Mocha, Sexboms, Aicelle Santos, Jericho Rosales to name a few.
All I can advice for those who are listening and will listen to TTPP, be open-minded if you really want to enjoy this show.

Songs from different genre of music are played during the request show. Groove with the disco music, jam with the songs from bands here and abroad and sing like a diva with mellow musics.
